Natalie Portman Gives Son Aleph a Piggyback Ride in Paris—Look How Big He Is!

Talk about a precious mother-son moment.
Natalie Portman was spotted giving her 2-year-old son, Aleph, a piggyback ride in Paris, and we can't help but notice how much the little guy's grown!
The Black Swan beauty was sporting a simple mom-on-the-go style as she strolled through the City of Light with her son—whose papa is Portman's hubby Benjamin Millepied—wearing jeans, oxford shoes and a quilted navy coat to keep warm in the fall weather.
Her little man, who appears to have grown a great deal since we last saw him in mid-August, flashed a sweet smile while perched atop his famous mama's shoulders as his cute blond hair was swept back by the wind.

Ashton Kutcher Spotted Buying Dipping Tobacco

Ashton Kutcher appears slightly embarrassed after he was spotted at a Los Angeles gas station, holding a recent purchase on Friday, Oct. 18.
The 35-year-old, who has a worried expression written all over his face, was holding a tin of Copenhagen dipping tobacco and his wallet (with some cash hanging out).
The Jobs actor looked casual for his quick pit-stop, wearing a light gray longsleeve T-shirt, darker gray sweatpants and a Chicago Bears cap.
It is unclear whether or not Kutcher bought the tobacco for himself, or for someone else.
Aside from looking a bit uneasy during his most recent sighting, Kutcher has nothing to worry about with this accomplishment: he was named this week by Forbes magazine as the highest-earning TV actor. The Two and a Half Men star banked a whopping $24 million. As if that wasn't enough, the guy is expected to make even more once his episodes of the CBS sitcom go into syndication.

Tom Welling and Wife to Divorce

There are some things even Superman can't fix.

Smallville star Tom Welling, 36, is getting a divorce.

The actor's wife, Jamie White Welling, filed documents in Los Angeles on Wednesday to end their 10-year marriage, PEOPLE has confirmed.
White Welling, a model, cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split and is asking for spousal support. The documents state that the couple, who don't have any children, separated in December 2012.
The pair reportedly met in a Miami coffee shop in 1998, and they wed four years later in Martha's Vineyard. They lived in Vancouver, where Smallville was filmed, for most of their marriage, returning to Los Angeles in 2011 after the show ended.

Sigourney Weaver has seen Gravity — but not in 3-D. "I was afraid to see it in 3-D," she told us earlier this week at the 2013 Golden Heart Awards. "I don’t think I could do it — I already felt like I was floating away." She saw the movie with her daughter, she told us, and she held onto her "for dear life." So it's possible to scare Sigourney Weaver; you learn something new every day.

Laura Dern to Play Reese Witherspoon’s Mom

Deadline reports that Laura Dern has been cast to play Reese Witherspoon's mother in Wild. Demi Moore Looks Radiant While Making First Red Carpet Appearance in Six Months

Demi Moore has still got it!
The actress looked absolutely radiant on the red carpet on Thursday, Oct. 17, while attending the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Gala in Beverly Hills.
Decked out in a sparkling blue Salvatore Ferragamo gown, the gal, who turns 51 next month, easily proved that age is nothing but a number.
Clearly all those hours of doing yoga has paid off.
The shindig marked Moore's first time in six months walking a red carpet, the last time being in April when she showed up for the Target Presents AFI's Night at the Movies event in Hollywood.

Box office preview: Gravity or Carrie

It’s prom night in October, and although horror remake Carrie is eying a solid debut, the film will have to work some major box office magic to prevent Gravity from being crowned queen for a third weekend. Carrie isn’t the only new wide release hitting theaters — there’s also Escape Plan and The Fifth Estate, whose prospects are decidedly dimmer.
Here’s how the box office might shake out this weekend:
1. Gravity – $34 million
Sandra Bullock and George Clooney are headed to another massive weekend at the box office. Gravity only fell by 23 percent last weekend — and that was against the opening of Captain Phillips. This time around, there aren’t any well-reviewed adult dramas attracting attention, and Gravity may fall by an even slimmer 20 percent to about $34 million for a remarkable $173 million total.

2. Carrie – $26 million
With Halloween right around the corner, Sony’s $30 million horror movie is poised to play well with young horror fans — and perhaps adults who want to see how the remake of the 1976 classic compares to the original. Chloe Grace Moretz isn’t a proven box office draw (though Julianne Moore may draw older crowds as Carrie’s religious mother), but Sony has marketed the film heavily — in part by releasing a viral stunt that has already garnered 41 million views — and the Carrie brand name has major heft. Playing in more than 3,000 theaters, the film could scare up a $26 million debut.

Michael Bay Clarifies Transformers 4 Fight Story

There have been reports today that Michael Bay got into a fight on the set of Transformers: Age Of Extinction. However, our sources on set say not so! There was an incident, but this was not a case where a passionate director riled a member of his cast and crew sufficiently that punches were thrown nor, according to this report, did it involve two brothers. Here is the rather more sad report from the set. "Contrary to several erroneous news reports, Bay did not get hurt in a fight on his set. The production company did have a rather bizarre encounter with a man (allegedly under the influence of a narcotic substance) who was wielding an air conditioning unit as his weapon of choice. "The young man, who had earlier accosted several other crew members, barreled onto the set in Quarry Bay and swung the cumbersome appliance directly at Bay's head. The director ducked and wrested the air conditioner from his attacker, preventing what could have been a serious accident. The company's security team quickly stepped in and subdued the assault. The police, who also scuffled with the assailant and two of his companions, ultimately arrested the three men. No one on the cast or crew was injured and the production immediately resumed filming without further incident." We're glad to hear that everyone is well and uninjured, but it all sounds like a very odd incident indeed. In any case, filming continues in Hong Kong and it looks like there's no lasting effects.

Hominid skull ever found, witch was uncovered in Dmanisi, Georgia.

The 1.8 million-year-old skull is the most complete hominid skull ever found

The idea that there were several different human species walking the Earth two million years ago has been dealt a blow.

Instead, scientists say early human fossils found in Africa and Eurasia may have been part of the same species.

Writing in the journal Science, the team says that Homo habilis, Homo rudolfensis and Homo erectus are all part of a single evolving lineage that led to modern humans.

But others in the field reject this.

Original GTA designer remaking first game in 3D

Michael Dailly, the original creator of Grand Theft Auto, is re-building the first game in 3D form.

Reported by USgamer, Dailly is working on a 3D remake of GTA using the GameMaker: Studio package.

The remake allegedly runs at 60 frames per second. The original Grand Theft Auto contained three dimensional maps which were viewed from a top-down perspective, making them readily-built for 3D driving. The remake will render the game using a new engine.

Dailly has posted progress screenshots from his Twitter account.

According to the article, there are currently no plans to implement gameplay into the map or release the project to the public.

Michael Dailly is currently the head of development at YoYo Games, the company who produces GameMaker: Studio. The tool serves as a game creation system for content creators without extensive programming knowledge.

Grand Theft Auto was released in 1997 to positive reception. The most recent entry to the series, Grand Theft Auto V, launched in September this year and went on to break several Guinness World Records, including the record for fastest entertainment property to gross $1 billion.

Character Actor Ed Lauter Dead at 74

Having starred in over 204 different projects throughout his 42-year career, Ed Lauter was a man whose face we all recognize from somewhere — something he called a "turn actor” (the character who shows up when the story needs to make a major one). Sadly, the Long Beach, N.Y. native died Wednesday from causes relating to this mesothelioma. His publicist Edward Lozzi told The Hollywood Reporter that Lauter had been diagnosed back in May with a terminal form of the cancer most commonly caused by exposure to asbestos.
Most recently, Lauter starred opposite Clint Eastwood as a baseball scout inTrouble With the Curve. He was also the dutiful butler in The Artist and held recurring roles on TV shows including ShamelessPsych, and ER. The 74-year-old Lauter got his start on Broadway alongside James Earl Jones and Jane Alexander as part of 1968’s stage production of The Great White Hope. In 1971, he tackled television in an episode of Mannix and moved to the big screen a year later with the Western Dirty Little Billy. He also worked on Alfred Hitchcock’s final film, Family Plot, and alongside Burt Reynolds in the original version of The Longest Yard.
